Each year one of the New England states hosts an annual conference focused on foster care and youth in out-of-home placement. This year Rhode Island will be the site of this event.
In 2008 RICORP will cosponsor the RI Foster Parent Association/New England Foster Care Association conference entitled, Waves of Hope. The event will be held October 17-19 in Warwick, RI.
The Waves of HOPE Conference is a unique opportunity to bring together foster parents, relative caregivers, adoptive parents and professionals working with children in out-of-home care. The purpose of the conference is twofold. The conference provides caregivers and professionals with information and skills to help them meet the needs of children in their care as well an opportunity to network and build relationships.
Day one of the conference will feature Charlie Appelstein and offer workshops for those that work with youth in residential programs.
