1 . Certificate Program classes are available to a student who has completed high school or earned their GED.

2. All classes are college courses. This means that participants will be students of the Community College of Rhode Island. Furthermore, all registrants are bound by CCRI rules/regulations. Students who miss “x” amount of classes (individual instructor determines number) may be dismissed from a class, students who do not complete the required work may not receive a passing grade for a course, etc. Students should expect exams on class material, and may be required to complete oral and/or written reports, etc.

3. RICORP will offer 1-3 classes each semester (depending on need). When a class is offered RICORP will preliminarily register students. This must be done through RICORP. During the first class, the college will officially enroll students.

4. Students will pay a registration fee (currently $160 – and subject to change). There is no additional financial aid offered with this certificate program. RICORP does not, and will not work with other grantors of student financial aid to accept payment for a certificate course. Students are responsible for purchasing applicable texts for each course (typically available and purchased at the start of the first class).

5. Those who owe past registration fees may not be able to (officially) register for a course through the college. This includes those who registered for a previous class and did not complete it.

6. If an individual registers for a class and does not attend/finish the course, the Council may deny their admission to future classes offered by RICORP.

7. Class registration sizes are limited. Enrollment will be determined on a first-come, first-serve basis, with those who send payment in with registration receiving priority status. NO REFUNDS ISSUED.

8. Official starting dates/location for each course will be sent to participants from RICORP.

9. RICORP will not reimburse the tuition difference for students who have taken past classes that comprise the certificate program.

10. While the classes in the certificate program total 30-credits, if a student is interested in pursuing their Associates Degree in Human Services they should set up a meeting with Professor Jerry Hatfield at CCRI (Warwick Campus). Please visit his web-page, available through the college website at http://faculty.ccri.edu/jhatfield/ for contact information.

11. Students should be aware that if they try to register for this certificate program, or a class offered herein through CCRI, the college will not do so.

Individuals who wish to receive offers of upcoming classes (prior to other potential students) should complete the registration for this certificate program. Students should also make sure that there contact information is kept up-to-date.
